LONGTIME SIMPSONS PRODUCER SIGNS BIG TIME DEAL…NEW ANIMATED PROJECTS ON THE WAY??

The guys over at Deadline.com are reporting that long time the Simpsons writer and producer Mike Scully has signed an overall deal with 20th Century FOX which includes him joining the Ryan Murphy comedy The New Normal plus more:

Under the seven-figure pact, he will join 20th TV’s upcoming Ryan Murphy-Ali Adler NBC comedy series The New Normal and will develop new live-action or animated projects for the studio.

 

Mike recently exec produced Napoleon Dynamite so I am curious to see what this deal means and what he can bring to the tale over at NBC. He’s also one of the funniest dudes to follow on Twitter along with his brother Brian. Still no word yet on if Napoleon Dynamite is coming back but if I were a betting man I’d say its 50/50 at best. One interesting point from the article is the fact that he may be working on some animated projects for NBC, no word yet if this means the previously announced NBC animated projects or if its just standalone stuff. I think it is probably the latter because I haven’t hear word one about ANY of the NBC projects, including The New Nabors which I was pretty amped for and thought it would premier Fall 2012. We will keep our eyes open if we get anything.
