REVIEW: UNSUPERVISED “FIRES AND LIARS”
Gary and Joel “defend” the local fire department by becoming arsonists.
Spoilers Below
Opening scene pretty much has the guys trying to burn down the park by way of throwing a bunch of spray-paint cans in a dumpster then lighting a match…BOOM! This causes Gary & Joel to go on the run which has the local press blaming the homeless. Gary thinks they should just not talk about the situation, but Joel has a sudden feeling of guilt thinking that the homeless should not have been blamed and lying isn’t the way to go. Soon, Gary starts to feel guilty too so they visit Frankie and Geno at the Fire Dept to try and apologize but as it turns out the firefighters celebrate fires with ribs and a cook out.
As it turns out, Geno and Frankie used to be worshiped after 9/11 for all the awesome things they did, but lately they’ve been under appreciated and are on the verge of being shut down due to budget cuts. Turns out, the whole town has been in the dumps as the number of homeless is going up, Martin’s out looking for a new job, and Gary & Joel can’t afford computers. To try and fix this, Gary& Joel head to the Internet cafe to do some research about how to burn down a building. but are thwarted by Megan who works for the school paper. Weirdest thing, Megan actually wants to set the fire so that she can frame the homeless people because apparently, she really hates the homeless. That said, they end up trapping them selves in the burning building until their heroes show up to save the day!
I gotta tell ya, Glenn Howerton’s really good at this voice over deal. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance in the various characters he plays and I hope he continues to come back. With that said, this was a great episode because it shed light on a lot of important lessons and social issues that are hot topics of the Presidential campaign currently ongoing. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m ma get some barbecue!
PS check out my interview with Romany Malco who plays “Darius” right here!

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
