REVIEW: ARCHER “EL CONTADOR”

Episode Synopsis: Cyril is promoted to field agent, and Malory institutes a strict drug-testing policy at ISIS. The staff doesn’t think much of either development. Original Air Date: Jan 26, 2012

Cyril gets promoted by Malory as a replacement for Ray Gillette much to the behest of the rest of ISIS. Also, she decides to institute a drug-testing policy for all employees. Once Cyril gets in the field, it turns out he’s a mess and a half and actually gets himself lost in a jungle during Archer and Lana’s mission to arrest a South American drug lord for a big time bounty. And who’s now playing nice with one of the world’s most dangerous murderers? Cyril!  And with his help the guys actually get a hand on Calzado(sp?), while Lana and Archer basically just stand by and watch.

Doctor Krieger has a way out of the drug test with his new herbal tea. Turns out it just gets everyone sick with a stomach flu along with a slew of hallucinations. We learn, Kreiger tricked ISIS into ingesting the tea so that he can perform all these experiments on his new test subject. So he’s more or less a Albert Wesker, but way more retarded.

Wow, Pam has the best pussy jokes this season. Seriously, she drops one major bomb an episode this season and it blows up any sort of monotony.  What I couldn’t help notice was how great the animation is starting to look on Archer from season to season. From luscious backgrounds to incredible details on all sorts of wild life(some of which get shot in the head) is nothing short of stunning. However, with the advance copy of this review, there wasn’t any subtitles with the rather copious amount of Spanish speaking that was going on throughout the episode. I more or less thought I was watching this on Telefetura or something, and had trouble trying to get a grip on the dialogue. With that in mind, this episode was kind of a miss mainly because of the language barrier.
