“Young Justice: Outsiders” Drops First Trailer!

This news has got me so “whelmed!”

With San Diego Comic Con overflowing with nerd news, DC’s new streaming service, DC Universe has unveiled its line up of much anticipated original programming centering on beloved DC Comics characters such as…Swamp Thing? Doom Patrol? STARGIRL?! What, are they picking these out of a hat?! What’s next, Ambush Bug?

Actually, I’d be down for that.

Anyway, one of the confirmed hype machines is the long awaited returns of Young Justice, a more mature take on a show about united forces of sidekicks like Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Miss Martian. The show only lasted for two seasons between 2010 and 2013, but managed to grab a fiercely loyal audience that kept the dream of show’s return alive until the announcement of its return in 2016.

The majority of the trailer is a truncated recap of the second season (to be fair, it’s been a WHILE), leading to the death of main cast member Wally West. Now several years later, “The Team” reunites again to stop a metahuman trafficking ring involving the royal family of Markovia, specifically their daughter Tara. People who know the comics may already be picking up on where this plot is headed based on that alone, but all of the dangling plot threads from the previous seasons should be enough to keep things fresh. A release date for the new season isn’t set yet, but it will probably be in the Fall along with the streaming service itself. In the meantime, savor this trailer and keep on Bubbleblabber for all future updates.
