Will Elon Musk Make a Cameo on “Rick and Morty” Season Four?

All signs point to yes!

Don’t worry, we know how crazy that title sounds, but there are a lot of signs that point to Elon Musk making an appearance on the adult animated series Rick and Morty.  Musk is one of the wealthiest, most influential people in the world right now.  The CEO of Tesla, Space-X, Neuralink, and founder of many other companies is also one of the worlds greatest eccentrics.  Between his active social media presence and sending cars to space, Musk is one exo-suit away from being the real world Tony Stark.  Which would lead us to believe that he is way too busy even to know what Rick and Morty is.

Everything Tony Robbins and self-help books teaches us is successful people don’t waste their time with television.  Especially ridiculous cartoons.  However, Elon Musk has confirmed on more than one occasion that he is a fan of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty.  Considering Musk’s track record, it does make sense that he would be a fan of the strange science and off-kilter humour.  He has shared his love for the series on more than one occasion on Twitter and Reddit including appearing in a photo with show creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland.  Even a 2017 Rolling Stone interview with the billionaire ended with a discussion about the series.

The best example of Musk’s appreciation for Rick and Morty came earlier this year.  The billionaire is known to make jokes on his popular Twitter account.  In January he added another about adding a “sentry gun” as security for Tesla vehicles.  Besides playing a score by Bach as it protects a car, Musk added that the sentry would “keep Summer safe”.  Musk was making an apparent reference to the overprotective mode of Rick’s ship in season two’s “The Ricks Must Be Crazy”.  While we shouldn’t expect any sentries to appear on Tesla’s anytime soon, the tweet did confirm Musk’s admiration for the show’s darker humour.

Fast forward to last week at the WarnerMedia upfront presentation when the Rick and Morty season four release date was announced.  Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon were in attendance to discuss what we can look forward to.  In an interview with HollywoodLife, the creators shared that some surprise cameos are coming in the new episodes including Golden Globe-winning actor Paul Giamatti.  When Roiland was asked about a recent YouTube appearance with Musk, he almost let it slip that the two were collaborating in the recording studio.  Which Harmon again (almost) confirmed afterwards.  Check out the full interview here:

Musk and Roiland had appeared on the PewDiePie YouTube channel in February for a meme review show.  It was a highlight for fans of all three superstars and helped the channel take a step up as the most popular on YouTube.  The video, which you can watch here, is one of the funniest things you can watch.  However, it seems that lining these two superstars up may have been easier than we would have guessed.  There seems to be the potential that Musk and Roiland were already spending time together in the recording studio.

Everything seems to line up.  As unlikely as it sounds, there is a high chance that Elon Musk will appear on Rick and Morty season four.  Let the speculation begin on what the cameo may be.  But, Elon Musk would make the perfect competition for Rick Sanchez’s crazy scientific theories.
