Why R Humans? Exclusive: Ron Hill and Jeff Maccubbin On Their New Animated Comedy Series Premiering Today

Check out our new video interview with Ron Hill and Jeff Maccubbin in support of their new series Why R Humans?

Ron is a self-proclaimed giant nerd hailing from a farm in New Hampshire. His first job out of college was a night assistant editor at World of Wonder. At one point someone thought letting him edit on UNHhhh was a good idea and the world has been suffering the consequences ever since. His work includes serving as the international writer and producer of Morning T&T with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK talent The Vivienne and Baga Chipz, as well as playing the Cowardly Lion in his middle school’s production of Wizard of Oz.

Originally from Baltimore, Jeff arrived in LA with nothing but his car and a film degree. He quickly entered the comedy scene, horrifying audiences across Los Angeles with his so-called “jokes.” Under the pseudonym Evil Jeff, he started his own YouTube channel that garnered millions of views before joining the World of Wonder family. Jeff is one of the main editors of the award winning YouTube Show, UNHhhh starring Trixie and Katya. He has also worked on dozens of other WOW productions including The Vivienne Takes On Hollywood and his latest show – Why R Humans?

In the future, humans are extinct and robots rule the world. A sentient slot machine, lamp and jackhammer are members of the robot high council. They have unearthed ancient video chats of human celebrities sharing stories of sex, love and money. In an effort to understand their creators better, the robots watch these time capsules of humanity and ask themselves: Why R Humans?

Part animation, part celebrity tell-all interview, and all bizarre, the comedy series Why R Humans? is an absolute trip following in the footsteps of cult-classics like Rick and Morty and the absurdist adult comedies on Adult Swim. Their guests are a symphony of celebrities and queer icons, including Trixie Mattel, Katya Zamolodchikova, TS Madison, Dean Sharpe, Sophia Zolan, Tia Kofi, Rock M Sakura and Dustin Milligan.

The series also stars the robots, left to right in cast photo (seen above), Gigamesh 2E, Camilla The Camera. Jack E 500, The Network Overlord, Monte Slots and Lola The Lamp.

The series returns with new episodes on Wednesday, February 1 with a new episode going up weekly. Why R Humans? is available exclusively on WOW Presents Plus.
