One of the biggest streaming hits for Peacock was the TV series adaptation of Seth MacFarlane’s Ted which eventually became the streamer’s most-watched original series. Literally it’s because of this little fact that the series was renewed for a second season as Puck News reports that episodes cost $8 million each (so six episodes gets you almost to $50m which is still less than what both feature films cost) which nearly was the reason why the series almost DIDN’T get renewed. Fortunately, it did and there might be more of Ted on the way. The article continues to say that a Ted animated series adaptation is nearing a greenlight which would hopefully help put Universal on the fast track in ordering more new original adult animation.
In this comedic prequel event series to the Ted films, it's 1993, and Ted the bear’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.
