Watch: WarnerMedia Rise House: Animating From Home Panel Recap

Dan Harmon, Lisa Hanawalt, and Michael Ouweleen took part in a lazily produced panel that also featured Rick and Morty voice cameos from Sarah Chalke  Chris Parnell, all in pre-recorded Zoom sessions to talk about the upcoming year of Adult Swim. Hosted by IGN’s Terri Schwartz, it’s clear that the magazine’s long-standing mission of doing no actual watching or understanding of the animation boom in the last year as continued to take hold as Terri delighted the viewing audience with canned questions, jokes with no laughs, and no real journalistic integrity.

What we did get were two new clips for Birdgirl(which we exclusively revealed an April 4th start) and Tuca and Bertie which you can watch here with Dan and Lisa talking about some of the COVID-related challenges that have went on in the past year with producing their series. Moreover, Michael Ouweleen talked about some of the content we fans should expect to see from the brand in the future which includes another iteration of the Adult Swim Festival, Toonami expanding it’s breadth of the type of dramatic animation they are getting starting with Final Space on Saturday (though there was actually no plug for the series which goes to show how much WarnerMedia is giving a shit about THAT franchise, yet again), and a whole lot more. IGN is awful at producing these so there’s no real breadth of information that has been announced, and everything was pieced together from other pre-recorded segments, so lame-O was their name-O.

New seasons of Birdgirl, Tuca & Bertie, Rick and Morty, Squidbillies, and Robot Chicken have all been confirmed for this year.
