Synopsis:

Written for adults, the series follows oblivious adventures of Xavier, a wanderer with delusions of grandeur. He’s searching for his purpose and along the way has bizarre experiences, often unwittingly getting himself into trouble. For all his good intentions, Xavier often does unintended harm to those he randomly meets while wandering.

The Simpsons were the recipient of the 2020 Peabody Heritage Award and of course Homer Simpson had a speech all lined up and ready to in anticipation of his win and you can watch it below.

In the press release announcing the win, the Institution had this to say about the award going to The Simpsons:

The Simpsons is one of television’s sharpest critics—as brilliant a child as the show’s conscience and mastermind Lisa. But it is also one of its medium’s funniest and most delightful offerings. In one episode, Homer thumps his television angrily, demanding that it be funnier. For answering Homer’s call for 30 years, we commend the writers, animators, and cast of The Simpsons with a Peabody Institutional Award.

The Simpsons will return with new episodes this Fall only on FOX.

Synopsis:

The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into popular culture in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. HOMER (Dan Castellaneta), MARGE (Julie Kavner), BART (Nancy Cartwright), LISA (Yeardley Smith) and MAGGIE are instantly identifiable television icons. Rounding out this cast of characters are many beloved Springfield residents, including tavern proprietor MOE SZYSLAK (Hank Azaria) and nuclear power plant owner MR. BURNS (Harry Shearer). The Emmy Award-, Annie Award- and Peabody Award-winning animated comedy will begin its 32nd season this year.

THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. The Gracie Films Worldwide Brand Division develops and produces the licensed content for the series.
