Watch: Rick and Morty Co-Creator Dan Harmon Talks Up Adult Swim Series With *Checks Notes* MSNBC

You know, NBC Universal’s Jurassic Park: Camp Cretacious season three drops a new season on May 21st for Netflix (here’s a clip), but instead, MSNBC’s Ari Melber has Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon on to talk about the show, whether or not the Kanye West episode is going to happen (it sounds likely, but Kanye is a bit more involved with the creative process which sounds like the right move), and what it was like to produce the series’ new season (set to premiere June 20th only on Adult Swim) during the pandemic.

Dan also goes on to talk about his narrative circle, incels, and other fun stories and jokes in what was actually a pretty fun interview. This comes off a big event that Adult Swim did a couple of weeks ago where they premiered an 8-bit animated episode of Rick and Morty followed by the second official trailer for the show’s aforementioned fifth season which will be ten episodes and will have a bit more continuity than prior seasons.

The upcoming season will see Rick take on his arch nemesis Mr. Nimbus which is saying a LOT given that Birdperson is also set to return in come capacity. For Morty, Dan Harmon has revealed that the little bugger will be introduced to a new love interest who is NOT Jessica (Kari Wahlgren/also slated to return) while his Dad’s relationship with his uncle goes deeper and his mom begins a cordial relationship with her clone Space Beth.
