Watch: ABC’s “The Goldbergs” Pays Homage To A-Ha’s “Take On Me” Iconic Music Video

For those who only know Sean Giambrone for his amazing voice over work on such animated franchises as Solar Opposites, note that Sean’s break-out role was that of “Adam Goldberg” in ABC’s The Goldbergs, a live-action sitcom that sees Sean actually play a role inspired by the franchise’s creator Adam F. Goldberg.

In the most recent episode entitled “Couple Off”, when Barry and Joanne crash Erica and Geoff’s peaceful weekend camping trip, they end up in a competition to see who is the better couple; Adam seeks to prove to Brea that he doesn’t have an easy, privileged life. The episode would be George Segal’s last appearance on the series as the legendary actor had passed away in March.

Because of the aforementioned news, it was probably an oversight by most that the show did an homage video inspired by A-Ha’s iconic rotoscope-animated music video for “Take On Me”. The original video recently surpassed One Billion views and has had numerous homages from the likes of Family Guy, Volkswagen, and Paramore.
