Upfronts 2015: It appears that NBC has given up on animated Christmas specials for 2015
Oh man, last year NBC had a shit-load of animated Christmas specials that aired in prime-time. From How Murray Saved Christmas to Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas, NBC made sure to make some investment into enough animation about Christmas that we would forever, ever remember Christmas.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be the case for 2015 as judging by NBC’s 2015/2016 schedule to go along with their Upfronts presentation from yesterday, the Christmas specials more or less went over like a fart in church, and as such it doesn’t look like any new ones are going to be produced.
It probably didn’t help that both specials actually did worse ratings than the 50 plus year old Charlie Brown specials, but it looks as though NBC is giving up on everything animated, not just Christmas, but the Ed Helms-linked series.
