Emmy-winning producer Lee Mendelson passed away on Christmas Day from complications deriving from lung cancer, he was 86.

Lee was responsible for producing a whole catalog of animated Peanuts primetime holiday specials that still air on regular rotation whenever the holidays come about including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; This is America, Charlie Brown; It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown; and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving; It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown!; and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Lee is survived by his wife, Ploenta, and four children.
