“The Rising of the Shield Hero” Goes Into Production For Two More Seasons
Seasons two and three of Crunchyroll’s lone English dub of the Winter 2019 anime season, The Rising of the Shield Hero, are officially in production. It’s expected that the additional seasons will continue to be English dubbed and rumor has it the show could be the next Toonami-bound series that could replace one of the current Shonen offerings that the action toon lineup on Adult Swim has currently (Dragon Ball Super ends in a couple of weeks, and Boruto isn’t far behind).
Geeky university student Naofumi Iwatani goes from 2nd class citizen to 2nd class hero when he’s summoned to the videogame-like kingdom of Melromarc. Known as the weakest of four heroes, the Shield Hero, he’s tasked with defending the world from calamity. But when Naofumi ends up betrayed and belittled from the start, will this cynic even be willing to help?
