‘THE JETSONS’ TURNED 50 YESTERDAY
Before we had Futurama, we had The Jetsons, a prime-time animated sitcom premiered 50 years ago yesterday on ABC and although the show only lasted one season it became so legendary that more episodes were produced for syndication and would eventually have a second run in the mid-80s. That said, its influence is stellar not just in television but in American life providing some foreshadowing for the baby boomers and their experiences in dealing with single parenthood, advances in technological achievement ( I am STILL waiting for my flying car), and homosexuality.
Since then, there have been rumors of a live action take on The Jetsons but not much has been seen or heard from it since February. So on behalf of everybody here from Bubbleblabber, we want to wish a Happy Birthday to Rosie, George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, and Astro.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
