“The Flintstones” Coming To Boomerang App

This is important.

Starting this Thursday, the Boomerang App will be the exclusive streaming home to The Flintstones, which yes, will include the far superior 1960s version of the series of which we independently confirmed.  We have asked if this will include such special airings as the 80s primetime episodes of The Flintstones, but did not hear back in time for posting, but will update when we do.

For those that don’t know, The Flintstones is the original primetime animated sitcom that was produced by Hanna-Barbera starting in the 1960s. The series followed The Flintstones family in the town of Bedrock, including Fred, Wilma, and Dino for a couple of seasons until Pebbles would join. The Flintstones live next door to Fred’s best buddy Barney and his family, the Rubbles including Betty and eventually including Bamm-Bamm.

The series was essentially a prehistoric take on The Honeymooners in that we got a parody of modern-life in the 1960s told in a prehistoric setting. A lot of the conventions that were presented in The Flintstones for an animated comedy are still seen today in the likes of The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Boomerang is available on desktop, iOS and Android devices.

Dear Cartoon Network, here are my other demands for the Boomerang App to whomever manages this:

Jonny Quest (original series)

The Jetsons (first season)

Top Cat (original series
