Starburns’ “Bubbles” Gets Directors

Just the latest in a long string of projects for the bustling production studio.

Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) and Mark Gustafson (The PJs) will be co-directing the stop-motion animated film Bubbles coming from Starburns Industries (Rick and Morty/ Anomalisa). For those that don’t remember when the film was originally announced, Bubbles follows Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee.

Starburns Industries has been really busy as of late. The company is knee-deep in production for the third season of Rick and Morty and TBS just green-lit a new Louis CK/Albert Brooks series being produced by the company, so these guys are not short on projects. They’ll need all the TV revenue they can muster because anyone who has seen the Anomalisa special features knows that these movies aren’t cheap and they take a lot of effort, time, and money.
