South Park’s “Band In China” Still Going Strong After Two Weeks From Original Air Date

We’ve got the end of BoJack kicking off the end of this month and Rick and Morty kicking off next month. But, you would never know that because the biggest story in adult animation, probably of the year, is SouthPark’s “Band in China” episode. The one-time target for social justice warriors, the South Park franchise has officially transcended from that of a simple television show to an international symbol for free speech and hope against tyranny and oppression.

Reports had come in from Twitter that Hong Kong demonstrators were even playing the aforementioned episode in the middle of the chaotic mess going on over there, and DJ Kedd was banned from playing in China ever again just for liking a Tweet referencing the show.

Make no mistake, 23 seasons in, and South Park is still God status after all these years. Read our review of “Band in China” here.
