“South Park” Was Hulu’s Most Watched Show In 2017; Comedy Central Clusterfest Ramps Up Show Inspired Attractions

Get caught up on everything South Park.

The streaming service just crossed the 20 million subscribers mark and features an impressive collection of adult animation, none more so than the standard bearer which is officially South Park.

According to a recent announcement at Hulu’s Upfronts, subscribers watched 135 million hours of South Park in 2017 alone. We actually posted a graph earlier this year of the other big-time franchises the service features, but by far and away, South Park is the biggest. To help capitalize, Hulu announced last year that they have signed on some talent to begin producing some original adult animation after seeing the likes of Netflix, Apple, Youtube, and others more or less surpass the streaming service in terms of original offerings in favor of acquired content.

We probably won’t be getting new episodes of South Park until the fall, but that doesn’t mean you can’t see more of the small town’s locals. Next month, Comedy Central’s Clusterfest has all sorts of South Park inspired attractions. For example, The South Park County Fair will invite attendees to “Come on down to Clusterfest and have yourself a time!” Festival-goers can enter the world of South Park and join characters at the County Fair where attendees can try their luck at classic carnival games infused with a South Park twist, including:

  • Member Berries Skee Ball
  • Cupid Me Couples Archery
  • Randy and Friends Roller Balls
  • Lemmiwinks: Beat the Buzzer
  • Kick the Baby Game
  • Fishin’ for Water Bears

The event also features a South Park menu that you can see below:

Also, South Park Season 21 has its home release next month, and South Park: The Fractured But Whole still has one more DLC left in its tank entitled “Bring the Crunch” which is coming soon and features an all-new superhero class.

The Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning, animated series, “South Park,” created by comic geniuses Trey Parker and Matt Stone, features the breathtakingly irreverent and ruthlessly funny misadventures of four foul-mouthed, troublemaking young boys in a small town nestled in the Colorado Rockies. It has been praised by the prestigious Peabody® committee as “COMEDY CENTRAL’s notoriously rude, undeniably fearless lampoon of all that is self-important and hypocritical in American life, regardless of race, creed, color or celebrity status.” We couldn’t agree more.

“South Park” continues to surprise even its most devoted fans each and every week. Known for its unbelievably immediate and ruthless responses to world events, “South Park’s” new episodes bring up-to-the-minute news and pop culture icons (including Al Gore, J. Lo, Kanye West, Oprah, Sir Elton John, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and P. Diddy) to the town of South Park for social commentary and good old-fashioned ridicule.

“South Park” launched on August 13, 1997 and is based on the animated short entitled, “The Spirit of Christmas.” Co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are Executive Producers, along with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bill Hader, Bruce Howell and Vernon Chatman are Producers.
