Pollen Music Group took part in a Reddit AMA session where the guys behind the couch gag for The Simpsons’ 600th episode talked briefly about their experiences of doing so. You can read the rest of the AMA here, but here was the Q&A about The Simpsons.

On working on The Simpsons’ 600th episode’s couch gag:

Pinch me stuff. Having done a lot of work in TV, film and commercials, I thought I worked in a fast-paced industry. Working with the Simpsons team set a new bar for me. What they do week to week is absolutely insane, as is the sheer number of times they’ve pulled it off. I’ll share two highlights: (1) being in a spotting session — which turned into a story session — with Al Jean, Jim Brooks, David Silverman and Chris Ledesma. Together since season 1. (2) the orchestral scoring session for episode 600, with Alf Clausen and the team of orchestrators. Watching an episode without dialogue is like watching a surprisingly moving epic drama! – Scot
