Shorts Review: Sonic For Hire Season 6 Episode 3

 Sonic

 Spoilers Below

In Season 6, Episode 3 of “Sonic For Hire”, Sonic once again awakens in his perfect life of luxury, sex parties, and bacon-egg-and-cheeses, all courtesy of the alteration of the space-time continuum. Tails, on the other hand, is in rough shape, owing money to Mr. X of Sega’s “Streets of Rage” (currently located across from the Boulevard of Broken Crack Pipes). Accidentally choosing a pink tricycle while neglecting all the vehicles in the Superhero Garage (like Boba Fett’s Slave I, a tie-fighter, the Batmobile, and the Ghostbusters Car) Sonic takes off to help his friend defeat his bullies, while also cracking a great Ben Roethlisberger/assault joke. (NOTE: Sexual assault is not funny, but famous athletes making dumb decisions are. I’m looking at you, Plaxico Burress.)

This episode lacks any new creative plotline, and grabs a few cheap laughs from referencing previous jokes, but still manages several snarky, pop culture references – something “Sonic For Hire” is getting better and better at doing. So although this week’s installment might not be anything to write home about (I guess my Mom will just have to wait until next week to find out what happens to Sonic and the gang) the show is still worth watching. After all, it’s only four minutes long. Four minutes you won’t demand back.

You’d only waste them anyway.
