Episode 9 of Sanity Not Included was pretty lousy. In fact, I waited an extra week because I was hoping to piggyback my negative review with another episode that was hopefully better. No such luck, as for the life of me I can’t find a new episode. Maybe they took the holiday weekend off or something.

Regardless, the last episode just wasn’t funny. I can name each of the three (3) instances in which I laughed out loud (which is an old pre-21^st century term for “LOL”). The first two were both in the Minecraft musical sequence, which says a lot when you consider my general disdain for musicals. These were: Aleks’s lyric, “My dad always said ‘forgive and forget,’ but he killed my brother with his hatchet” as well as Aleks telling Dex he was right to call him “dumber than a caterpillar with no teeth,” even though Dex claims to never have said that.

The third was when the girls told someone on the phone: “well, if you see [Dex and Aleks] let us know, alright?” The response was a brief and subtle, yet audible, “NO!”

That’s it. And those three jokes occurred in the span of a minute. Most of the other clips just consisted of characters yelling or making noises, or just saying what they were doing, with little attempt at humorous dialogue.

Come on, guys, step it up.
