Some Spoilers Below

Speaking of spoilers, you know what’s fun? Walking past a movie theater where there’s a line for an opening weekend movie (take Iron Man 3 earlier this month as an example) and, turning to your friend, saying something like, “Yeah, that was a great movie, but I can’t believe he dies at the end.” And it’s harmless, because it isn’t true. (Or maybe it is, I don’t know, I didn’t see it.)

Credit where credit is due: I actually took that idea from someone. Back in 1979 my mother and grandmother were exiting a theater after watching The Champ, (boxing film starring Jon Voigt, Faye Dunaway, and a young Ricky Schroder) and my grandma – completely oblivious to the line outside the theater for that same movie – innocently uttered the same phrase. Homer also did something similar on The Simpsons, with Empire Strikes Back, but they clearly stole the idea from my granny.

Anyway, on to Sanity Not Included

So this episode was pretty decent. The first skit after the opening theme, with the Toy Story dodgeball sequence, was a surprisingly early laugh. And the “The More You Know…” segment was worthy of a chuckle as well.

Later on the guy talking to his “baby” on the phone was also funny, and a few of the other super-short bits kept the laughs coming at a nice even pace throughout the 7-½ minute runtime. This installment was a bit shorter, probably due to the fact that Aleks and Dex barely appeared.

I will say I was slightly disturbed by the skit with the murderous severed foot, and there were also a few too many homophobic slurs in this episode. Other than that, and a few generally unfunny scenes, the episode was amusing and satisfying.
