Shorts Review: Croissant Man

Comme l'obscurité de l'hiver écrase notre âme pour nous atteignons un certain soulagement comique ..

Ahem, yes, I did use Google Translate so that may be wrong, I should’ve stuck with high school French N’est pas?

So, as the crushing ennui of the “festive” period closes in on us all (yes, all – I asume you feel the same way about the Holiday’s as I do) we search for a soul with whom we can relate; a disparate character whose heart yearns to be heard, one whose artistic achievements cry out to be recognised. At times like this we need: a depressed pastry.

To pass the time this holiday I have found a great series for you to watch. Created by Tulica Singh after a successful Kickstarter, Croissant Man is a webseries “about a depressed croissant trying to find meaning in the superficial world of bourgeois pastries”.

Croissant Man‘s website is highly informative and can convey all the information about the series that you’d ever need to know; character bios, full cast and crew, it’s all good fun and as Vimeo don’t have playlists, the site is the best way to get all the episodes in one place.

This hasn’t really been a Holiday review, more of a recommendation from my list of “what to watch over Christmas”, but if asked, I give Croissant Man, the series 8.5; the clay figures are delightful, expressive and spot on in characterisation, and the sets are impressive.

An all round great show from Tulica and team Croissant, go check it out now, or, you know…when you can be bothered..I don’t mind, I’ll just be here waiting, contemplating, fighting the nihilism and the despair…***sigh***
