Season Review: Mike Tyson Mysteries Season Two
Should this go to a third round?
Like Rick and Morty, Archer, and a few other animated darlings, Mike Tyson Mysteries finishes a season with a limp…but could a spin-off be the thing that works?
Enter a 19-episode Mike Tyson Mysteries season that featured episodes that ranged from quite excellent to completely dull. Yea, this show, when it’s good, it’s really really good. Norm’s “Pigeon” is still the best part by a mile with Mike Tyson a close second. When the crew is solving mysteries, hilarity ensues. The dynamic amongst the team is strong, even if Yung is close to annoying, and Marquess has me on the verge of launching my remote at my TV, you can’t help but marvel at the banter.
But when this show is bad…IT’S BAD. Like, dead air bad. Like, we literally have episodes about nothing from time to time. Marquess’ jokes suck, crass punchlines usually get bleeped out, and there are really some days when Mike Tyson talks and I can’t understand a fucking word.
We DID get one thing out of this really long second season of Mike Tyson Mysteries…a potential back-door spin-off. We wrote about the possibilities of a spin-off of Mike Tyson Mysteries entitled “Unsolved Situations”, and yes, I still think this should happen. For starters, I think Snoop is quite a bit funner than half of the Mike Tyson Mysteries cast, and I still want more mountain lion.
I wouldn’t mind a third season of Mike Tyson Mysteries, but I might need a break first.

Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
