SDCC2018: “Steven Universe” Teases Upcoming Movie

At yesterday morning’s Steven Universe Comic-Con panel, Cartoon Network released a thirty-second trailer for Steven Universe: The Movie. Long rumored, but never confirmed until now, Steven Universe: The Movie will air at an undisclosed future time on Cartoon Network. The teaser (posted below) focuses on an oscillating heart with our four main Crystal Gems (Steven, Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet) looking on in horror as a new shadowy character smiles menacingly.
In other Steven Universe news, a crossover with OK:Go! also featuring Ben: 10, Teen Titans: Go!, and more was announced.
No word yet on the release date, canonicity, or even importance of the film. It could be anything from a non-canonical adventure to having serious ramifications on the series at large, but knowing Cartoon Network, the one thing we do know is that we won’t be seeing it for some time.
