SDCC 2017: “Archer” Announces Refresh for Ninth Season ; Wet Bar Probably Saving Lives
This gets me wet.
Jesus Christ….I know I said it before but I’m saying it again. The Archer wet bar is a life saver. Conveniently positioned right before you get to the Indigo Ballroom, the wet bar serves not alcohol but the stuff that serves life…water. It’s so cool and refreshing on a hot summer day and yea, it’s fucking hot in San Diego. I don’t even know how the hell the cosplayers manage their heavier costumes in such heat because NOT ME!
Fresh off an Emmy-nominated Archer: Dreamland that constitutes the eighth season of the FX Networks’ long running series, the producers, cast, and even Sterling Archer himself were on hand to announce the setting of the show’s ninth season, Archer: Danger Island.
This season is set in a setting during the early stages of World War II. It’s 1939, and Sterling is a sea pilot that maroons on a volcanic Polynesian island that will feature familiar voices playing unfamiliar roles. Malory returns as a bar owner and Sterling’s mother, Cheryl is now Charlotte, a newlywed left stranded by her husband after she has a tryst with Archer, Figgis is some sort of undercover German agent, Pam is Sterling’s co-pilot, Lana as a princess, and Krieger as a talking parrot.
Producer Matt Thompson promises some crazy shit that will include smart monkeys, quicksand, cannibals, and the fact that the setting is a fucking VOLCANO.
The ninth season of Archer is expected next year on FXX. Watch clips of the panels here and here and the trailer for the upcoming season below:
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
