Rooster Teeth Announces Animated RWBY Fairy Tales Series Coming Later This Year To RTFirst

Rooster Teeth has put a bow tie on the seventh volume of RWBY, but that doesn’t mean the studio is short-changing fans on RWBY-related content. While it sounds like the studio may have quietly canceled RWBY: Chibi (a lot of their producers were part of the major staff cuts that went down last year), three new RWBY series are in production, though only one of them animated. Here’s what came with the announcement:

We’re also in the early stages of development on a handful of new animated shorts featuring original RWBY fairy tales.  Presented in a new 2D, mixed media style of animation, these would be the kind of bedtime stories that Taiyang might have read to Yang and Ruby when they were little. This show is slated to premiere later this year exclusively for FIRST members

The statement also confirms that RWBY Volume 8 is in development and will premiere later this fall season.
