Review: Ugly Americans Season 2 Finale

It’s a tough gig to be on the same channel as South Park and Futurama and many shows have tried and failed to be a perfect complement to either show. Shorties Watching Shorties, Drawn Together, and others all have went by the wayside. However as Ugly Americans ends its second season,  I think this one sticks around for a bit.

The premise of this week’s story revolves around Randall feeling neglected by Mark, therefore, Mark feels the need to start hanging out more with Randall. This leads to Mark being embarrassed countless times by Randall as well as repeated abuse at the hands of a mutated ram/human.

The other story arc is that of Grimes shape-shifting’ mummy(voiced by Christine Baranski). Grimes has to deal with the constant berating from his mother and soon comes to the realization that he must stand up to her.

Overall a solid episode. I thought this season started off kind of slow but finished strong in the last few weeks. The characters are really starting to find their own. Ugly Americans comes back next year, and will probably always be in the shadows of its bigger brothers, but with a show cast with zombies, demons, and wizards, I think they’ll be just fine.

This week’s episode gets a thumbs up:
