Review: Wild Life “Bad Water”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
In what’s supposed to be a normal day, well, as normal as it can be for animals living in a post-apocalyptic world, turns into a mystery when something goes down with the zoo’s water supply which means the crew has to head to the mall and get the correct filter to pretty much save the only thing keeping our furry (and not so furry friends) alive. After a rendezvous with some mutants, we’re able to get the zoo back to normal.
Our Take
While a bit more ink has been sent towards Magical Girl Friendship Squad, Wild Life is a bit more original in it’s execution and definitely for fans of Adult Swim’s more hardcore series like Aqua Teen, Mr. Pickles, and Superjail. Other than a koala voiced by Reggie Watts, the entire cast is made up almost entirely by fresh faces and the result is a hilarious tale of 28 Days Later as viewed by zoo animals.
In the debut episode we are introduced to a cheetah named Glenn (John Reynolds), bubbly dolphin Marny (Claudia O’Doherty), hyper fox Hudson (Baron Vaughn), psychedelic koala Darby (Reggie Watts), self-care loving panda Debbie (SkittLeZ Ortiz) and energy drink-guzzling sloth Viv (Natalie Palamides). For my money, Glenn is my favorite character so far as he tries his best to balance out his chi with his more animalistic tendencies which more than comes in handy when dealing with hordes of mutants. Really throughout the episode we excitedly get to see a pretty gruesome series pan out, but the laughs are here as well. I’m pretty excited to see more coming down the pike with the remaining five episodes.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
