Review: Wild Grinders “The Amaazing Racers”;”Wild, Wild Mess!”

“The Amaazing Racers”

Rob and Meaty are flipping through the channels when a commercial for the Baco 5000, a race around the globe. Goggles just so happens to have already built a vehicle and it’s ready for entry. Rob rolls to the starting line where he is greeted by his toughest competition: Stubford.

Turns out that Stubford paid off all of the other racers so it would be easier for him to beat Rob. They tear through Sprawl City, get swallowed by a whale and get blown out in Paris, France. They race through Pisa, Switzerland and the pyramids of Egypt. Right before the finish line, Rob’s car falls apart but there’s no quit in him. He takes the parts from his car and creates a skateboard. He barrels down the hill and past Stubford for the victory.

Interesting references in this episode: Alien Workshop Helmet, Stig from Top Gear, Pinocchio.

“Wild, Wild Mess”

It’s Wild West Day in Sprawl City and to commemorate the event the mayor picks an honorary sheriff’s name out of a hopper. Unfortunately for the town the name he pulls is Stubford’s. Stubford renames the town Stubford Gulch and rewrites the history of the town to reflect that his great-grandfather was the founder of the town and not Cowboy Big Ol Lil Rob. He then throws the Wild Grinders in jail for saying, “rootin’ tootin’.”

As is usually the case, someone in the Wild Grinders has an escape plan in their skill set and this time it’s the lovable redneck JackKinfe. Apparently he’s a champion rope thrower and he’s able to snag the jail keys with ease. The Grinders are outlaws, hiding in his backyard, when the townsfolk request that he challenge Stubford to take back control of Wild West Day. He does and must clear Sprawl City Canyon on his board to become sheriff. Goggles creates him a board just like his great grandfathers and he clears the canyon just like his ancestors did so long ago.
