Review: We Bare Bears “Neighbors”

Won’t you be my neighbor?

Spoilers Below

Grizz stayed up all night marathoning a true crime television show. The next morning, some new neighbors randomly appear. Warren and Faye are a couple taking a trip in their RV. The bears are super happy to have new neighbors. Ice Bear even made them a casserole, which he forgot to give them after their initial meeting. Grizz offers to take the casserole back to the couple but, when he arrives back at the RV, he overhears a very disturbing conversation. He is sure that Warren and Faye want to kill him. His brothers aren’t as convinced. They talk Grizz into taking a nap to forget about it.

When Grizz wakes up, Warren and Faye are sitting at the dining room table with Panda and Ice Bear. The humans get Grizz to sit between them and they have yet another creepy conversation that sounds like they want to kill Grizz. But Panda and Ice Bear still aren’t hearing it. Scared, Grizz throws the couple out of the cave. He attempts to go to bed but ends up having terrible nightmares about Warren and Faye trying to murder him.

Once Grizz has scared himself awake, he hears some noise from the other room. Panda and Ice Bear are peeking out the window at Warren and Faye. Once again, they are having a creepy conversation that sounds like they want to kill Grizz. This time the brothers are all on the same page. But they can’t call the police because they have no evidence. So they tape Panda’s cell phone to Ice Bear’s head and set it to live stream to their laptop.

Inside the RV, Ice Bear finds way too many knives and a bunch of pictures of Grizz. Yup, the couple looks like bear killers. Ice Bear hits his head, which turns off the phone, which freaks out Grizz and Panda. Grizz runs into the RV to save his brother, only to find Ice Bear staring at more pictures. Panda got scared by himself and joins his brothers in the RV. Now they are all looking at pictures of all three bears, not just Grizz.

Suddenly, Warren and Faye return from their trip into town. The bears try to escape out the bathroom window but Grizz gets stuck. Panda and Ice Bear manage to get Grizz out by breaking the rear of the RV. Unfortunately, the human couple has found them. After a short conversation, the bears find out that Warren and Faye don’t want to kill them. They want to carve them out of wood. The pair owns a wood shop and they think the bears would make cute models for their wares. Grizz apologizes for thinking they are killers. To make up for his mistake, the three bears pose so Warren and Faye can carve wooden statues of them.

How true is this episode? How often have you found yourself watching some true crime show like Unsolved Mysteries or Snapped, only to think that your neighbor is absolutely a serial killer? Marathoning true crime shows is a terrible idea and, hopefully, Grizz understands that now. At least the neighbors weren’t actually bear killers. Thankfully.
