Review: We Bare Bears “Anger Management”

Minus Adam Sandler or Charlie Sheen.

Spoilers Below

Nom Nom is forced to attend therapy thanks to a tantrum he threw on a children’s television program. He was supposed to be guest starring on “The Corgis” but he flipped out during the theme song when the director kept asking him to smile bigger. His manager and his therapist have brought in someone to help Nom Nom be happier. Grizz. But Grizz doesn’t make Nom Nom happier. Actually, Nom Nom tries to throw Grizz out. Until his manager points out that his career depends on this therapy being successful. So Nom Nom gives it a try.

Grizz shows Nom Nom all his techniques for being happy. None of them work. Eventually, Nom Nom throws another tantrum. Grizz ends up hugging Nom Nom tightly. Amazingly, that makes the little koala relax and smile. Seeing that the hug works, Nom Nom takes Grizz with him back to the set of “The Corgis” so he can finish his job.

On the set, Grizz does his job and tightly hugs Nom Nom whenever he sees a tantrum coming on. At least until Grizz sees his favorite character on the show, the kangaroo. Grizz asks for an autograph but the kangaroo just has him kicked off set. When Nom Nom notices that Grizz is gone, he starts to freak out again. Luckily, Grizz is able to convince a worker that he belongs on the set as a clown. Granted, he had to get dressed up as a clown to get back inside. Grizz returns just in time to save Nom Nom from another tantrum. Nom Nom and The Corgis finish filming without any further problems.

Once the job is finished, Nom Nom fires Grizz. Grizz gives him one last hug and the two part ways.

At first, I was kinda hoping this was going to be a Nom Nom-only episode. No bears at all. But when I saw that it was going to be Grizz and that Grizz was his “happy teacher” for the day, I was glad that it wasn’t just the koala. It was interesting to see that hugs was the big fix for Mr. Angry Face, though it would have been nice for them to go into a little more detail about why it worked so well. Maybe that will be in another Nom Nom episode
