Review: Total Dramarama “Stingin’ in the Rain”

Overview

When Chef gets locked outside during a bad thunderstorm, the kids mistakenly assume a plumber he previously hired the services of is a robber and decide to protect the daycare by any means necessary. Home Alone-style Hijinx ensues…

Our Take

This was quite a fun & random episode as much of the humor comes from both misunderstanding and miscommunication as Chef attempts to have a few things fixed around the house, while Courtney worries about a missing Coin she needs for a “show & tell” event at school.

We even see the return of the recurring character “MacArthur” from past Total Drama Seasons but this time she plays a bit of an aggressive plumber within “Dramarama’s” universe instead of a hyper-aggressive dirty cop like she did in the past seasons of the Total Drama Show.

Overall, a passable episode as much of the humor felt by-the-numbers in terms of what it was obviously parodying. The ending did give me a bit of a chuckle even if the proceedings felt predictable in places while part of me thinks all of this could’ve been avoided if Chef told the kids in advance who was coming to the building, to begin with.
