Our Take

It’s understandable for Lynn to be under such desperation due to the long-ass losing streak her team has, though I do find it strange that a goat has a lawsuit on her for throwing a baseball at it which was mostly to explain in a flashback why she can’t pitch herself. So it makes sense why a simple farm kid such as Liam who’s experienced in throwing “Cow pies” would be such a blessing in disguise to her. This all predictably changes near the end of the episode, but at least on a positive note.

As for the latter episode, Lincoln becomes obsessed with performing magic tricks to the point that he hopes to win the school talent show, however, Lincoln’s friends who want to do a dance number with Lincoln and are incredibly unsupportive of Lincoln’s magical solo act thinking that what he’s doing will damage whatever reputation he has. Thankfully a compromise is made near the end of the episode that manages to make both sides happy.

Overall, both were passable episodes that were quite harmless and properly conveyed some meaningful moral lessons that I don’t see many cartoons delve into, such as learning to make tough decisions as a leader for the sake of looking out for your team. And learning to be supportive to your friends, even if you don’t completely agree with how different their goals might be. We live in an interesting time when lessons like these are hardly discussed unless they’re played straight in some live-action CW teen drama where it’s nothing but superficially attractive people with problems.
