Review: The Fairly OddParents “Return of the L.O.S.E.R.S.” ; “Dimmsdale’s Got Talent”

This is bad.

Spoilers Below

“Return of the L.O.S.E.R.S.”

The L.O.S.E.R.S. reform after the fairies leave to get wand upgrades which should make Timmy and his babysitter Chloe defenseless. Too bad the bad guys aren’t all that creative, otherwise they would’ve been more of a threat, instead they keep screwing up plans. Finally, the evil doers come up with some sort of death ray, but the fairies return to save the day with their brand-spankin’ new wands.

“Dimmsdale’s Got Talent”

We’ve got a local talent show in town and just about everyone gets a pass during the auditions for the show with the exception of Timmy who is rejected for a terrible act BUT does pick up an offer for Mr. Pickles’ personal assistant. On the day of the actual show, everyone else’s talent act goes horribly wrong, but Timmy’s goes unexpectedly well and gets him the 1st place prize of being a big balloon in a parade.

Our Take

Both premises have been done a thousand times before. “L.O.S.E.R.S.” reminded me of every plot featured in a Home Alone movie just without the variety, and “DGT” used the normal “reality show” premise that has been done to death at this juncture. Add in the fact that Nicktoons and Disney are battling for the rights on who is the worst at scheduling premieres, and you’ve got yourself a rather dismal effort.
