Review: The Cyanide and Happiness Show “Too Many Cops”

cyanide

Detective Schmidt puts more than his life on the line to protect the Mayor instead sacrificing his baby to take a bullet.

Two cops learn the importance of family. The two cops happen to be a gay couple with a son at home that seems to be depressed because he just wants dads that care about him and want to spend time. Unfortunately, both cop dads don’t seem to be all too worried about their kidd.

Higgins shows his new partner how to solve a case. We actually spend half the time with Higgins just talking about shit much to the delight of his Sheriff. Higgins ends up getting his leg shot off only to get replaced by a bullet-ridden replacement.

Learn how to paint with Bill Brass. Bill’s got powers akin to the movie Stranger Than Fiction where shit he paints shows up. This helps the cops find the body of the mayor

Our Take

This show can sometimes be too creative for its own good. One week we get something closer to a sketch show (like here) and other times we get a little more meat on the bones in terms of plot and such. In any case, we had a real solid episode buoyed by the fact that there is just SO MUCH you can do with the parodoxical cop dramas. My personal favorite bit involved the painter because there were some good twists and turns. That said, we sure do kill a lot of babies in this show, yea?
