REVIEW: THE CLEVELAND SHOW “The Wide World of Cleveland Show”

This week’s episode is like Viewer Mail, but not as funny.

In this week’s The Cleveland Show we get to go around the world and get international influences with the Rallo-Tubbs family.  The episode starts with a Latino-flavored affair that takes a plot clearly inspired by anything you’d see on Telemundo. The next effort gets us a mafia-influenced episode that sees hits, betrayals, and Larry’s drowning!  Love Hitler??? Good!  Cuz, Cleveland becomes the fuhrer himself in a bit where he just complains about everything in German which makes it sound evil.  The short isn’t overtly long, but when the family goes Japanese we get  Cleve-tron a rock em, sock em robot that destroys Junior’s school during a hot dog eating contest.

This episode of The Cleveland Show was pretty much like a Viewer’s Mail episode, but it only came off as OK. Like I didn’t think the German bit was much to chuck at, and the Latino bit was poorly spoofed. That said, the Japanese one was pretty great, not only with the Voltron inspiration, but other little things like the anime look of Tim the Bear came off really great. Not a great episode, but could’ve been worse.
