Our Take

For the first episode, much of the focus is on Sergio the Casagrande’s family bird who gets kidnapped by a Bird collector who isn’t so subtle about his sinister intentions, but this is partially due to an elaborate plan to speed up the tedious boring nature of birdwatching from the point of view of young people. Of course, they eventually resolve the problem in a fun and unexpected way…

As for the other episode, the heart of the story is a common problem that most teens face when they wish for their own personal space. Especially Bobby who like most adolescents on the path to being an adult, just wants to be understood and acknowledged as one which in his mind thinks is impossible given the comical yet dysfunctional nature of his family, especially their Grandmother Rosa who is often painted as a PG-rated Hispanic version of Tyler Perry’s Madea character. Of course, the ending culminates in an unusual compromise, even if Bobby has no idea how far his freedom extends by the end of the episode…

Overall, for the final two episodes of this now canceled series it’s kind’ve a weird way to fully end this show that’s lasted over three seasons. Whether or not we’ll ever see these characters again within future Loud House episodes/seasons remains to be seen. But the way it ended with Bobby’s current situation felt a bit uncomfortable even if it was meant to end on a comical note that in its way satirizes helicopter parenting…
