Our Take
The first episode was primarily focused on Hector having a crisis about whether or not he has “good luck” and how it may or may not affect those around him, especially a sports team called the “Gatos”, and the comical twist at the end revealing where his real source of luck is coming from.
As for the 2nd half, much of the plot was focused on their Asian neighbors The Chang’s this time around with a weird plot twist involving a Korean Dish called “Bao” and its historical significance as well as why it has to be made in such a meticulous way…
Overall, these were passable episodes that were fun & weird but in different ways. We had a previous episode where Hector previously took center stage but here, the Soccer story was a bit wacky. While the B-story was refreshing as we usually don’t get an episode devoted to their neighbors but it had a decent message about never taking shortcuts to achieve specific goals.
