Review: The Amazing World of Gumball “The Factory”

It is what it is.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Nicole heads to work so as to give a presentation to shareholders and convince them not to shut down the place thereby causing a bunch of layoffs. She doesn’t want any trouble, but that idea quickly fades when Nicole discovers Darwin and Gumball in her bag ready to tagalong and stir up the pot. The two do just that and it causes mass hysteria in the factory, however, Nicole is able to both save the day and really show her bosses that the factory should stay.

Our Take

This season is by far the most Looney Tunes that I’ve seen out of Darwin and Gumball. The duo has somewhat replaced Rigby and Mordecai as Cartoon Network’s animated buddy comedy with some of the same gags as you would have seen in the JG Quintel-created series.  That said, while the show gets crazy bonkers, the plot is a lot of montages with a messy ending. I would’ve preferred an effort that would’ve seen a more proper build-up of the factory shareholders really wanting to shut down Nicole’s place of business and the possible financial repercussions that could’ve surmised, instead silliness wins out which offers up a not as fruitful of a conclusion.
