Our Take

With the writing of Marguerite Bennet and Artist “Aneke”, we once again progressively dive into this crossover event that introduces RWBY renditions beloved/standard Justice League members. The art stands out with how colorful it is, and the writing progressively makes sense. In This issue, we’re now introduced to the first female Green Lantern from Earth, Jessica Cruz! (Or at least the Remnant version of her.)

With so many memorable Green Lanterns from Earth, It makes sense that Jessica would been chosen in this story as she’s become popular in recent years thanks to various animated renditions of her throughout DC animation. From Both versions of the “DC Superhero Girls” animated series (The Shae Fontana web series and the current Lauren Faust run on Cartoon network) to the DC Animated movie “Justice League vs. The Fatal Five” and may possibly make her first live-action debut in the recently announced Green Lantern series from HBOMax. While Jessica’s role is brief, she does play a major role in the plot with the way the issue ends as she knows more about this crisis of missing Huntsmen/Huntresses than anyone else.

Overall a decent issue with a cliffhanger that might answer all our questions and It was a nice way to bring Jessica into the team while also showing the skills of other league members in action. I can’t wait to read the next issue.
