Review: Rick and Morty ”Raising Gazorpazorp”

Spoilers Below

Rick buys Morty a sex robot, but to be honest Morty was begging for it and by the time he gets home and ugh…uses it, he impregnates the robot and out comes a baby. The robot gets deactivated, but when Rick tries to go back to its world to investigate, Summer slips and Rick is unarmed which is a problem because there are monsters everywhere. These monsters bang out these sex robots which then gives us babies galore. Rick and Summer get in on one of the sex robot ships that is good at dropping loads and it ends up on a planet where women are the superior race and men are slaves…otherwise known as paradise.

We learn that these women are the reason why Morty’s kid looks weird as shit. Turns out this kid is doomed to be an evil bringer, but we can’t get to it because Summer and Rick’s cover gets blown and are sentenced to death. Thankfully, Summer is able to talk the Amazonian alien ladies to let them go free so that they can go back to Earth and get rid of Morty’s kid.

Meanwhile, Morty’s kid has two extra arms and is already sounding somewhat demonic. The kid says crazy shit and inscribes weird drawings. Unfortunately for Morty Jr., the kid can’t go outside, but Morty won’t let him. MJ grows up and really becomes a fat kid with a bunch of teenage angst just looking to get out. Junior escapes, and Morty has to convince Jerry to help him stop the growing monster or he’s going to take over Earth. Rick and Summer returns to Earth and tries to kill Morty Jr., but Morty Sr. makes sure no harm comes to his child. Brad Anderson (Marmaduke) shows up and convinces Morty Jr. to be a writer and to live on his own.

If ChefRich were reviewing this episode he would have given it a 12/10 based solely on Rick’s Stone Cold Stunner of a one-liner concerning ICP. As a matter of fact, Rick is slowly but surely snagging the crown off of Sterling Archer’s head in the one-liners department. Both plots were outrageous, and Richard Christy (as Morty Jr., grown up) is turning into a rather awesome contributor to the world of animation, both with his voices and his own series Majestic Loincloth. This week’s episode was also a sterling reminder that the series employs maybe some of THE best in character design as it pertains to beings from different worlds, as so far no two species have looked alike since the debut of the series and the fact that this time around it wasn’t so much a ”Rick and Morty” adventure as it was a ”Rick and Summer” rendition, just added that extra dash of wonder as to what the hell was going to happen!

The one slight gaffe I really didn’t care for was the fourth wall stuff dotted along the episode, mainly because I have  seen other animated TV shows (Family Guy) do that gag just a tad better. But, Jesus Christ, fucking Brad Anderson shows up at the end and stops the world from ending. Just plain genius…
