Review: Red vs Blue “Caboose’s Travels”

Out of space and time.

Overview:

Caboose shares where he’s been all this time. In old England, the group comes together for some harsh conversation.

Our Take:

As it turns out, Caboose has been all across history- and has revolutionized history, in more way than one. As it turns out, Caboose has been responsible for the burning of the Library of Alexandria, taught primates how to use tools, and invented fire, just to name a few things. The team doesn’t take it that well.

Tucker has taken hold of medieval England, hoisting himself up to be a King Arthur figure. It’s actually because he got rejected, that he’s completely overcompensating by trying to make himself important. Since he’s overcompensating, he’s not doing a very good job at ruling the kingdom, and so his rule is entirely built upon the fact that

Donut, Grif, and Tucker all end up in the same place, and then comes the issue. Donut claims that Huggins is working for the enemy– which we know to be true, as Huggins does report to King Atlas. Huggins doesn’t seem like very much of a threat, especially because she struggles with doing her job well, but that doesn’t change the fact that she is under direct command of the figure trying to wipe out the Reds and Blues. Due to Donut being partially possessed by O’Malley, the team is uninterested in cooperating with him.

Donut, after being rejected by the team, comes into contact with a mysterious figure comprised of sparkling interlocking gears. In this space where God inhabits, Donut and O’Malley exist apart from each other, but whether they are split apart in this dimension only or are somehow able to interact as separate beings isn’t made clear. Either way, in God’s space, it seems like any sort of individual is able to exist as a distinct entity. God has a plan of his own, and utilizes Donut to guide the Reds and Blues onto what he considers to be the ‘right path’.

Except he delivers that very ominously. God says that he’ll ‘spare’ the team, which implies that he fully has the choice to destroy them, unlike King Atlas. At this point, we really don’t know anything about God or King Atlas, only that the ending of their conflict depends on what the Reds and Blues do. The issue is– they both seem to be manipulating the team, and they both seem to be hostile. If both sides are hostile, then which side to trust? There isn’t enough information yet, so it’s still hard to tell.
