Review: Our Cartoon President “Impeachment”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

It’s impeachment season at the White House and the President is going…ok actually. In fact, it isn’t long before Trump starts to ponder about a day where he doesn’t have to do the most stressful job of all and soon begins to accept the fact that maybe leaving politics is the best thing for him. That is until Sean Hannity arrives and convinces the President to do everything he can to prove his innocence to his Democratic cohorts.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren’s campaign is falling apart because she can’t relate to all of the moronic voters that voted Trump into power in the first place. So she opts to phone a friend in the form of Hillary Clinton to talk her through, though the former Secretary of State clearly shows that she’s got ulterior motives and could be readying another run up to the White House.

Now that the Impeachment trial is over, Trump now has to focus on winning his re-election bid. Who will stand in his way? We’ll have to wait until next week to find out.

Our Take

I would argue that the Democratic side of this series’ aisle is taking it just as hard, if not harder, in the groin area in terms of gags. It took all of five minutes for the producers to convict the Clintons of the Jeff Epstein conspiracy theory and we also didn’t waste any time in drudging up Warren’s past fibs to the press, most notably that she’s Native American. And I was warming up to a story all about Trump not wanting to be President, and would’ve preferred we used Sean Hannity for another time. Though, any chance to get a bunch of James Adomian is a good episode, and this week we get a bunch. His “Bill Clinton” isn’t the closest depiction of the former President that I’ve ever heard, but it might very well be one of the darkest. Moreover, Rudy G. is already shaping up to be a dependable character for launching NY-laced one-liners, and I’ll be curious to see if he tangles with another former mayor of NYC in the form of Mike Bloomberg.

With the election cycle about to kick off, Our Cartoon President returns at the perfect time to comment. All of the FOX animation originals are off for the next few weeks which could be a great way for the show to pick up some steam before the competition comes back.
