Review: Our Cartoon President “FOX News”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Donald Trump and FOX News end their relationship after the President catches his favorite network of allowing Democrats on their network. Whilst brokenhearted, Donald tries dating elsewhere in the form of CNN, more specifically, Wolf Blitzer. The two actually hit it off at first, but it doesn’t take long before Donald pines for the days of jumping back in bed in what was the 24-hour news orgy coverage of his failing presidency.

Meanwhile, fresh off of winning the NH Primary, Bernie Sanders is getting a little annoyed that his Democratic competition is ripping off all of his campaign pledges and opts to do something about it.

Our Take

If I wasn’t going to vote for Bernie Sanders before, I am now. Simply because I want the future iteration of Our Cartoon President to be the James Adomian-voiced take on the likely DNC nominee. James is one of the most powerful voice actors of the 21st century, and every line he gets in this show, especially those for Bernie, are all sorts of hilarity.

Unfortunately, here’s another week where Donald Trump’s plot is very run-of-the-mill and somewhat boring had it not been for Stephen Colbert’s “Wolf Blitzer” who is by far the best voiced news anchor on the series. Getting a heavy dose of Wolf can, at times, be a bit unnerving given Stephen’s approach to the voice, but it’s also the only thing getting me through the aforementioned plot.

One technical flaw, when Brett Kavanaugh yells he’s got an incorrect mouth animation. Overall, the message towards the Trump party is surrounded by the land mines that is a saturated Trump-joke market. It’s really the DNC bits that are keeping me entertained because really nobody is doing those today, so hopefully this continues as the season goes on.
