Review: Our Cartoon President “Climate Change”

Oh, Glenn.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

After an enthralling debate that looked more like WWE’s Royal Rumble than it did anything Presidential, Bernie Sanders gets arrested then released in an attempt to team up with Mitt Romney and get his name cleared with the public. The answer? A pro-socialist tour! Does it work? We’ll have to see as we get closer to the election.

His likely opponent, Donald Trump, spends most of his bit trying to get a handle on climate change which is causing him to sweat too much whenever he goes anywhere. Eventually, he gets so fed up with trying that he cancels and decides to re-engage on his promise to cause even more harm to our planet.

Our Take

The debate scene was polished in 24 hours and ended up being by far the funniest scene in the whole episode further helped by a continuation featuring Bernie Sanders which helped us take a break from the Republican party this time around which is good because I thought that part of the show was starting to get a bit monotonous. In the future, I would like to see one Democrat plot and one Republican plot because it forces the writers to make jokes and think critically about both sides of the election rather than just one which should help keep the show fresh and funny as we look at the back half of the season. James Adomian’s “Bernie Sanders” is legendary and should the show become a two-man race for a possible return in the fall, I would be all in. Let me also throw in a special kudos to the voice of “Chuck Todd” Zach Smilovitz who is also a writer on the show and did a great job of running with that “Socialism TV” gag on more than a couple of occasions which was just fine with me.
