Review: NFL Rush Zone: Guardians Unleashed – “Troy’s Comeback”

Drop Kick breaks into a maximum-security prison while the guards are listening to Rich Eisen spew on about the Vikings youth and hopes for a new season. Drop Kick runs through Sector 7G (SIMPSON’S DID IT) and leaves before he can be captured. The guards show up at a cell and say that the man’s robot friend broke in but they’ll never be able to break him out. Could this be Wild Card?

This weeks guests are Adrian “Barry Sanders Lite” Peterson and Cordarrelle “Strength Of 5 Percy Harvin’s” Patterson of the Minnesota Vikings.

Troy is in a skateboard contest with some of the brightest talent in the Midwest. (Could Rob Dyrdek be there?) He’s in the lead and if he’s able to land the trick he’s never tried before he’ll win the contest for sure. While he preps for the trick, Drop Kick reports back to Sudden Death that Wild Card is easily accessible within the prison and can be broken out. The Anticorians don’t like that Drop Kick has become so friendly with Sudden Death so they decide to steal another NFL team’s Megacore to surprise him.

Troy takes a nasty spill during his run as a group of Blitzborgs attack. They must defeat them before they can check on their fallen comrade. With a name like Blitzborgs, you’d figure they wouldn’t go down as easily as they do. The battle is quickly won by the Guardians and they head to the Hall to talk to RZ about the Vikings Megacore being a target. Troy walks slowly away and RZ questions if he is hurt. Troy promises that he won’t overdo it.

The Guardian head to Vikings camp to investigate. They end up seeing Cordarrelle Patterson, who’s signing autographs. Most of the Guardians get in line while Troy heads to the trainer’s room to get his ankle looked at. The team doc says his ankle is pretty messed up and he has to stay down until he’s fully healed.

Patterson takes the crowd to a big stage where he unveils the Vikings Megacore. When the curtain comes up, the Anticorians are standing with the Megacore. They steal it and commence with an attack. Adrian Peterson sits with Troy while he heals and his friends are in battle. Adrian talks about his knee injury in 2011 and how it took a lot of mental toughness and determination to come back from it to with the MVP. He could have rushed back, but he wouldn’t have been the same player he is today. Troy feels better knowing that he can come back from his injury as well.

The Anticorians take the Megacore to an experimental energy building on the Viking campus. As they do that, Drop Kick breaks back into the prison and frees Wild Card. The Guardians head to the energy building where they are attacked yet again by more Blitzborgs. They head to the roof where they are attacked by the Anticorians. Troy is released from the trainer’s room. He’s unable to fight but he can power down the Vikings Megacore. They also hear word that the Falcons Megacore is also in the building and is powering a machine that can shift the Earth out of its orbit. They power down the machine and retrieve the Cores before the building implodes.

The Guardians return the Megacores to the Vikings Mascot for safekeeping. AP and Cordarrelle show up and make sure that Troy is ok and willing to heal up properly. We then head back to Sudden Death who is reaming out the Anticorians when Drop Kick shows up and delivers Wild Card to his leader.
