Review: Mike Tyson Mysteries “Spring Break”

Let’s break!

Overview (Spoilers Below

While Yung and her friend Cassie head to Miami for Spring Break, Michael, Pigeon, and Marquess head to Cuba to take part in solving a mystery. Their mission: to help transition Cuba to a friendlier more welcome government entity than what they had in the past. Unfortunately, the President forces the Mysteries crew to stay in Cuba which causes everyone to escape and sees Marquess reunite with Yung and both Pigeon and Mike Tyson freeing terrorists from Guantanamo Bay and taking the first boat to the terrorist-ridden Middle East.

Our Take

Yep, let’s remember that Mike Tyson just freed a bunch of terrorists from Guantanamo! If these are the type of shenanigans we can expect in the show’s fourth season, it should be a good one. Unfortunately, the issues with the series are still very much on point. Jokes and gags that kind of drag out a bit (like Pigeon’s cigar scene) instead of maybe spending more time with Mike trying to free the terrorists. The musical composition still sucks as well, however, I quite enjoyed the cold open featuring Mike Tyson’s doorbell being hit by Cassie over and over again. Fans of the show will feel right at home, but if you aren’t a fan of Mike Tyson Mysteries, you’ll probably not be a fan of the pace of the series.
