Review: Kirby Buckets “War and Pizza”
Spoilers Below
The Buckets parents leave for the evening leaving Dawn and Kirby at home without a sitter. As soon as the grownups lead, Dawn heads out to get revenge against some girl named Rebecca for taking her dress, but we find out there was probably a misunderstanding there. Kirby sneaks in Eli and Fish and form some sort of shitty club, but when they order pizza Kirby causes a scene due to him not giving the delivery guy a tip.
With Dawn trying to weasel her way out of Rebecca’s house unscathed whilst holding a bag of zoo shit, but different instances continue to show up and keep her around. Back at the Buckets household, Kirby is still dealing with the fallout of not paying the pizza guy, and we learn that this guy is insane. Stalking, dispelling secrets, and a legion of pizza restaurants all banding together to riot against not getting a tip.
Eventually Rebecca’s demented sister grabs hold of the bag of shit and slobs it all over the family, giving Dawn the queue to leave. Kirby on the other hand is dealing with the pizza guy’s attempt at getting other pizza guys to trash the house. But when Kirby finds out the pizza guy’s secret, the fact that he hates pizza, the other pizza guys rebel and help Kirby clean up just in time for the parents to get home. Dawn gets in trouble for eating Mom’s snacks.
Our Take
I was ready to TEAR this episode apart. If we had continued on that weird club the boys were putting together, I would’ve just turned my TV off. Fortunately, the pizza dude invasion ended up being pretty funny though if someone were to try and convince me that the pizza guy was trying too hard, I would fold pretty fast.
Dawn’s bit was ok, but Belinda ended up being the funniest character of the night for me as she was stuffing her face with cupcakes the entire time. Pizza and cupcakes in the same episode is a good recipe. Oh yea, and $10 on a $20 pie IS a ridiculous tip, and both Eli and I drink the same kind of chocolate milk…so there’s that. We are also both very adept at toilet clogs.
